On May 23rd, the latest 20-kilowatt wave energy generator modular device developed by Jiyang Wisdom successfully underwent its first sea trial in the Baisha Island area of Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. We are immensely grateful to the Three Gorges Group for dispatching a 5,000-ton engineering vessel to assist with deployment, providing substantial support that ensured the success of the sea trial.
The device tested in this trial is a 3-kilowatt standalone unit designed in a modular fashion, with the potential for future expansion to a 27-kilowatt array. Building upon five previous sea trials conducted at the end of last year, this trial incorporated numerous improvements, including a redesigned exterior and enhanced energy conversion mechanisms, to maximize the capture and conversion of wave energy. Throughout the trial, our research and development team conducted comprehensive assessments of various performance indicators of the device. The results demonstrated excellent power generation efficiency, meeting our anticipated targets. Furthermore, the stability and reliability of the device were validated following exposure to multiple typhoons, indicating its capability for sustained operation in complex marine environments.
The successful sea trial marks a significant step towards the commercialization of the 20-kilowatt wave energy generator modular device. Moving forward, we plan to conduct sea trials for complete 20-kilowatt units as well as 100-kilowatt five-unit arrays at opportune moments, further scaling up our operations to meet broader energy demands and drive the advancement of renewable energy technologies.
